Our membership is growing rapidly, we have riders of all ages who enjoy all aspects of cycling. Here you can learn a little bit more about just 4 of our members

Millie

Yates

  • Race category - Tri Start 2  triathlon 

  • Favorite Race - Triathlon and I also enjoy cyclocross

  • I was selected to race for Yorkshre in the IRC triathlon races at Eton Dorney in August 2013. We got a tri suit with our name on the back , just like in the olympics. Yorkshire came 2nd !

  • Best Bike - I have a red  Islabike Luath 700 (unlike my Dad he has 5 bikes to choose from!)

  • My aim for 2014 is to be selected for the IRC's again

  • I love most sports, but I also enjoy art and being creative. I am a fan of  the great british bake off and have baking competitions with my sister Ruby.

Rees
  • Race category - Youth C (under 12)

  • Favorite Race - Isle of Man Youth Tour (loads of hills!)

  • In 2013 I was most proud of my hill climb performance in August. I achieved a better time than I expected.

  • Best Bike - Scott CR1 Comp

  • My aim for 2014 is to get more British Cycling points

  •  I've ridden with Alex Dowsett and Ben Swift on a training ride, before getting dropped after about 10 minutes of clinging on!

Brown

  • Race category - 2nd Category Senior 

  • Favorite Races - I love circuit races, particularly town centre criteriums. Otley Crit & Monsal Hill Climb are my favourites events becuase of the fantastic atmosphere.

  • Winner of 6 road races in 2013 and the Tameside Circuit Race League for 2nd cat. riders

  • Best Bike - Focus Cayo

  • My aim for 2014 is to become a 1st Category rider, I've never tried before and it would be good to do it before I get too old!

  • I rode the 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross for the first time in 2013, realising a long-time ambition

  • Veteran (over 50 for time trialling in 2014)

  • Favourite Races - Time Trials, 50 and 100 miles

  • 5th in the 2012 British Best All Rounder (BBAR) time trial competition (combined average speed for 25, 50 and 100 miles)

  • Best Bike - Scott Time Trial bike, I become one when I race on it!

  • Aim for 2014 - to be British 50+ champion over 50 and 100 miles

  • I love cycling and want to share my passion with everyone I meet!
