Go Scoot and Go Pedal

Go Scoot 12:15pm - 1:15pm Go Pedal 1:15pm - 2:15pm Saturdays (Holmfirth High School Top Car Park) 


An introduction to cycling for young non riders of any age. Riders are taught how to balance and scoot their bikes through fun games and exercises and progress to pedalling their bikes unaided. As their skills and confidence build they will be invited to join the later Go Ride session.

Go Ride (Saturday Session)

2.30 - 3.45pm Saturdays - Holmfirth High School (Top Car Park)

Go Ride provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills.Any type of bike can be used, so long as it is in good condition with 2 x working brakes, and a cycling helmet must be worn. The sessions teach the necessary skills to make riders more competent, safer cyclists. As they improve they will progress through different ability groups to continually challenge and develop their cycling skills.

Cost £2 club members, £3 non members

Turbo Training

7pm Mondays - Holmfirth High School, Gym

Please arrive at 7pm. to get set up. Session starts at 7.15pm finishing around 8.30pm.Open to everyone. Adults and youth riders train together.Turbo training sessions are an excellent way of improving fitness especially through the winter months.The sessions are led by club coaches using a variety of methods to get you motivated to work hard !The club has a number of turbo trainers for use by members, however if you have your own please bring it along. Please note that small wheels (childrens bikes 20-24”) may not fit the turbo trainers. 

Cost £3 members, £4 non members

Cyclo Cross Training

6.30pm Thursdays - Holmfirth High School (top car park)

Thursday night Adults and invited youth A/B/C Cyclocross training.

6.30pm start, High school, top car park, a mixture of skills and fitness.

Front and rear lights compulsory.


Velodrome Training

Times Vary - Every 2 months approximately

Holmfirth CC is part of the Yorkshire Cluster of Go Ride clubs and can nominate riders to attend velodrome training sessions.

The purpose behind these sessions is to enable riders to gain the necessary skills and become accredited so that they can participate in the track leagues at the Velodrome. All riders attending the sessions will be between 9 and 16 years of age. Priority will be given to riders who are not accredited and who do not ride the track leagues.
